Etac offers high quality mobility aids that are designed for superior ergonomics, durability and reuse, all reflecting the corporate intention to positively contribute to sustainability and circular economy.

Swedish Etac is a world-leading developer of ergonomic mobility aids, aiming to enhance users’ activity, regardless of physical circumstances. Etac offers a variety of products and services, taking into account individual needs and specifics of product use and applications (e.g. assistive devices for children and young people with special needs, patient handling equipment). Etac recognises the urgent need to contribute to sustainability, and they already offer products that are durable and repairable, factors which facilitate reuse and retention of value for longer periods, reaching more individuals in need. For manual wheelchairs, 75% of which are made from recycled materials, Etac enables its customers to perform repairs and upgrades themselves, by providing detailed user manuals, training and spare parts. This is an important stepping stone to circular economy, where the ambitions are to offer full refurbishment for a wide range of products, such as wheelchairs, with extended warranty, thus contributing to a significant lifetime extension. Furthermore, Etac plans to explore possibilities for reducing other products’ environmental impacts, by rethinking e.g. the input materials.
